Upcoming Games

To continue my support of the DCC RPG 2012 World Tour I'll be attempting to run a public game every month. This is my schedule, so far:

As before, there will be SWAG.

OrcCon in two days...

Just a friendly reminder that I will be at OrcCon on Friday & Saturday. I'll be running two DCC RPG games, one on Friday night from 8pm until finished and Saturday afternoon from 2pm til done. They'll both be beginner friendly games, though I will let folks bring 1st level characters if they make them and bring them. Anyone who plays on the Friday game will also be allowed to level their character and play that character on Saturday.

I'll be running the first two Appendix N Adventures from Brave Halfling Publishing.

On Friday, 8PM, I'll be running The Ruins of Ramat:

It is mid-spring, the time when the land’s rulers and their men-at-arms go to war with their neighbors. Nearly every able person is already involved in such conflicts, or helping the remaining militia protect the local village.

A little girl comes running and crying into the center of the village. When questioned, she sobs that she and her dog were playing just outside of town, by Rose Hill, when a giant, clawed creature came up out of the ground and took her dog. The girl is completely terrified and her dog, which never normally leaves her side, is nowhere to be seen. You and your companions volunteer to look into the matter.

Saturday, 2PM, will be The Vile Worm:

Deep within the forest, an ancient oak has grown huge, twisted, and evil. Ages ago, a  savage  cult  haunted  these  woods  and  this  tree  became  the  focus  of  their unspeakable rites. Below it, they carved out a chamber of sacrificial horror where innocent victims were offered to a hideous worm-like god. As the centuries passed, the cult faded into the mists of time, but the twisted old oak stood fast, awaiting the day when the creeping evil in the dark below would be summoned  once more.

Even if you can't play or make my game, make sure you stop by and say hi. I'll be running around playing games when I'm not running my own.  I'll also have a few copies of my zines if anyone is interested in buying a copy from me there.

I will have SWAG.

Time for me to step away from the computer...

... and an apology to the USPS about Canada.

Funny thing, after visiting the post office after sending a zillion mines out. It turns out I was wrong about prices to Canada. Remember that panicked post I put up about stupid prices. Well the USPS Notice I read was lying. Either that, or the computers over there are wrong. But Canada doesn't cost the same as China. The prices overseas DID go up, significantly. But guess what? Canada didn't. Derp, sorry about that. In the process of figuring out the prices, I realize I've been screwing up for the past 6 months. I've been undercharging for both Canada AND Overseas. That would explain why it's been costing me so much at the post office. But that's all in the past.

Starting with number 6, as I've warned, the price has gone up. I've also started subscriptions at the new prices. But I've also decided not to increase the prices of the back issues, they'll keep the current prices (Which is a bargain for Overseas, a bit expensive for Canadians, and cheap for those in the US.) I'm hoping PDF sales will off-set the expected decrease in print sales.

Print Edition of number 6 goes on sale tomorrow morning. Digital Editions later that night. Subscribers should start receiving their copies today and tomorrow if you're on the west coast, a bit later on the snowy side of the US. (Keep warm, and safe guys!)

Ok, that's it. I think that's the last you'll hear from me for a bit. My eyes are killing me.

Regarding Print Editions Purchasers (Old & New)

For those that have purchased the print editions, and/or have subscriptions. And would like a copy of the Digital Editions (as they're released) please choose (and consider) one of the following:

  • Support the d20srd sites* and purchase a copy from them!
  • Support a struggling, art-school drop-out, and small-time designer-publisher (me) and purchase the PDF from either: Shop d20pfsrd or RPGnow!
  • Send me proof (a Google Invoice number, Paypal Receipt  or something like a pic of you holding a copy that's obviously not 'shopped, etc. if you bought it at a con or from me in person, ) and I'll send you a RPGnow coupon code thing. Please include your RPGnow/DriveThru email address if you have one, or the email of the address that you will use to make one. Sorry, this will be a bit more analog and slower because of the steps. Also not everyone shared their email when they ordered online, or they used a proxy, or some other technical privacy stuff (which I adamantly respect!) Use this email: (it'll make it even easier for me!)

Don't feel bad or guilty if you request a free copy! I'm stoked, honestly, that you supported my zine by buying the print version. The whole print process is why I got into it, and it's been awesome. I still am going to make them, and it's pretty clear that folks are interested in them because I'm still getting orders and subscriptions. You guys are amazing. I just can't seem to find an easier process of distributing them, and this is how Evil Hat of Fate Core does it, so I guess it should be OK, right? I'm open for suggestions.

*d20 srd sites provide the rules SRDs for free online for the following rules:

The Modern Path:
Mutants & Masterminds:
Swords & Wizardry:

Crawl! pdfs...

...are starting to show up!
Crawl! no.1 PDF edition

at The d20pfsrd Shop:

and RPGnow:

Crawl! number one (the first issue) is already up for a super introductory price of $1.75 (half off the printed edition). You can buy the Van den Danderclanden special, by itself, for only a buck.

Note: if you want to support those d20 SRD sites, and purchase my zines from them (and until it is fixed) buy the Crawl fanzine "bundle", which includes No.1 and the Van den Danderclanden special. It's already bundled on the RPGnow site.

Each following issue will be released every day until Crawl! No.6: Classic Class Collection gets released this weekend!

Number 6 and the Crawl! Digital Editions (pdf)...

Issue 1 (one) has been submitted to and!

Check in with them, or give them a nudge *hint hint*... maybe, don't do that. heh. But I'll let you know when they're up. It was a headache, because it's a process, but it should be good to go!

The rest the issues will flow in the next few days, culminating with #6:

Crawl! No.6 Cover
I know, it took forever. But it's done, approved and at the printers. Subscription orders will ship out THIS WEEK. Regular Print and PDF sales will begin this WEEKEND. I'm excited and anxious on how well they'll do on PDF. So spread the word.

Once the 6th issue is released, a bundle will be made available. Should all be under Straycouches Press.
