#12 The Luck Check Issue

I've been thinking about the next issue. Luck checks. It'l1l be a zine full of Luck checks. Any, all, you-name-it. One of the vaguest rules in DCC RPG is the Luck check. Some call for DCs. Some roll under (the official rules allude to this, kinda...) Some do a bit of both. When I edit the official modules and adventures, I typically ditch the DC, and let the judge decide (publisher and authors haven't revolted yet.) I think we should ditch both, and use tables! A table for "Rolling over the body", and a table for "What's in the barrel", etc. A table for... Heck, a general "Who..." table. Any Luck based checks. I want to dig up modules, and find all the Luck checks, and create a custom table for it.

Got an idea? Submit it! The possibilities!...

And, how about this? For now on, all Luck checks in DCC RPG should be table based.

Delays!!!

Sorry for the delays folks. Things have been hectic over at STRAYCOUCHES. The combination of Holidays, deadlines, and building (my new home) has filled my world with a huge amount of STRESS. But after forcing myself to not do anything for a few days, re: New Years!, has helped. I've been back ordered on pretty much every issue for a couple weeks, so orders have been sitting in the Inbox for a bit. But new copies are at the printer, so I'll be shipping a ton of stuff tomorrow, when I get the pages back from the printers, then there is folding & stapling, stuffing envelopes, then SHIPPING!

As for the 12 Days of OSR Christmas, I'll be figuring those out TODAY (so expect an update, and winners expect to be contacted soon.) Physical copies will also be shipped with the back log of orders. PDF awards around the same time.

Phew...

Every year the indomitable Tenkar of Tenkar's Tavern gives away a ton of Old-School RPG goodness. This year ain't no exception. I'm again participating and giving away a bunch of stuff. (BTW, yes, I'm still around. Things have gotten really busy, but that's not what this is about.) 

To be given away (Anywhere in the world!):

Reply in the comments below. Be sure to include contact info (email or G+). Eligible winners will be picked at random. Wizard names will be used in some table, or something, forever credited, etc. If you don't care to be creative or whatever, that's OK too. But at least make something up.
